IDW Publishing, in conjunction with award-winning actor Michael Chiklis (Fantastic Four, The Shield, Eagle Eye), is set to release its new greek mythology epic, Pantheon, at WonderCon in April. Created by Michael Chiklis, Pantheon is set in a near-future earth nearing Armageddon and being ravaged by the titans. To fight on behalf of mankind, the ancient greek gods return and continue their eternal battle against the titans, even to the point of breaking their biggest taboo and revealing themselves to mankind.

Working closely with Chiklis are co-creators and writers Anny Simon Beck and Mark Andreyko. Additionally, Stephen Molnar, a rising star in the comic book art world, will provide the artwork for the five-issue series, while the Sharp Brothers will provide special covers for each issue.

Pantheon #1 (of 5; $3.99, 32 page color) will be available in stores in April.

Carlton Brumbelow is a comic book fan from way back The most vivid memory he has of his fandom was reading the final chapter of the Death of Superman on the day the issue was released. The second most vivid memory he has is being really pissed off when they cheapened that death by creating four fake Supermen and then bringing Superman back. Because of this, and a number of other incidents, Carlton's taste in comics has moved away from the bright colored caped crusaders to the darkened back alleys of gritty comics. He still enjoys the occasional superhero tale, but usually only when they darken it up a bit.
