Apparently, Flickr is the place to be, as Avatar unleashed a flurry of all the comic covers they’ll be publishing in April. Here’s a couple to whet your whistle, but you really oughta go over and check out the flickr tag set.

Wow. I have not personally read much of this comic, but I lust after the trade paperbacks every time I’m near a bookstore. What’s fantastic about this is that a) it’s not a superhero comic and b) it’s a “grown up” book. This isn’t kids’ fare, nor do we need to worry about men in tights. AMC has a growing reputation as a serious creator of quality storytelling (see Mad Men and Breaking Bad for examples). Great work to everyone involved!
“The Walking Dead” is based on the graphic novel series about survivors of a zombie apocalypse by Robert Kirkman. Frank Darabont penned the adaptation and is on board to direct. Gale Anne Hurd of Valhalla Motion Pictures and David Alpert of Circle of Confusion will exec produce with Darabont.
“Walking Dead” revolves around a group of survivors, led by a police officer, who travel the country in search of a safe home.
Working with people like Frank Darabont and Gale Anne Hurd is the right way in for us to deliver a project of distinction in this genre,” AMC prexy Charlie Collier said.
I hope this show gets made – the book looks fantastic, and has garnered praise from around the comic community.

Fascinating post on how Paul Duffield handles the creation of artwork from line drawing:
To shading:
To color flats:
To the final image, which I’m gonna make you go visit because a) this kind of inside info is too precious to not share, and b) you have GOT to read Freakangels, if you haven’t already.

So, it’s no secret here at the Games/Comics are Evil HQ that we love us some Ben Templesmith. Fell is a huge staff favorite, and we’ve been sucking down Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse like Radar on M.A.S.H. drank Grape Nehi sodas. Color us STOKED when we shot a quick tweet out that thanked the kind Aussie gent for his work, especially the creator commentary on the books.
Here’s what we got back:
And, then, to top it off, shortly after:
We feel all squooshy and warm inside, now. Thanks, Mr. T!

As our favorite dirty comics bastard and internet jesus, Warren Ellis, notes:
Site containing scans of 60s/early 70s British comics serials: The Steel Claw, Robot Archie, The Trigan Empire etc. Lovely idea.
We have only to add – Hell Yes. Click on any of the panels on the big ole’ splash page and you got some interesting analysis and history of these relatively unknown pieces of comic art. Bravo!

120 pages of classic, New Teen Titans action. George Perez and Marv Wolfman together again. Says DC Universe, the DC blog of choice.
“It’s all the regular Titans, obviously because the story was plotted back then it’s Troia, in that costume, Nightwing, Cyborg, Changeling, Danny Chase, Jericho, Starfire, and a number of others but they’re all there. This isn’t a big surprise. What this really is, is the uncovered story that had been done at the height of the Titans. And except for the actual dialoguing, that’s exactly what it is. Because as I said, George drew 80 of the pages back then.”
We’re looking forward to this re-wind to the classic Titans storyline and characters. More details as they emerge, right here on Comics Are Evil.
